Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for the production and writing of technical documents related to the successful continuation of the established standards and protocols of the BIM program of the 3 offices of the company. You will act as a resource person for the firm’s studio regarding the BIM portion for projects of various nature and scope. If needed, you could perform technologist or architect tasks (depending on your profile) to assist the teams.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Continue the development of the company’s BIM protocols and standards to improve their implementation
  • Train the teams on BIM in collaboration with the internal training manager and provide technical support
  • Create Revit content (standard or project specific families)
  • See to the creation of models and ensure their quality
  • Act as a liaison between the architects, designers and the client for the BIM component of projects
  • Organize and participate in the projects’ BIM start-up meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s BIM standards
  • Oversee the purchase of BIM related software
  • Monitor the technological evolution of BIM and propose advancement and improvements
  • Support team members in the drafting of BIM management plans for projects
  • Perform model control and coordination tasks
  • If applicable, supervise or support the resource responsible for 3d coordination on projects (Interference detection)
  • If applicable, integrate and manipulate point cloud data

Tasks that may be performed on an ad hoc basis in collaboration with team members

  • Perform surveys and drawings
  • Design, prepare and review specifications and technical drawings for preliminary and execution documents
  • Review and annotate shop drawings and data sheets
  • Research documentation related to existing buildings (plans, reports, etc.)
  • Analyze and ensure compliance with current regulations
  • Coordinate the work of various disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural)
  • Contribute to the preparation of construction and fit-up cost estimates
  • Collaborate in the coordination and management of construction and site administration documents
  • Carry out site surveillance

Your qualifications

  • College diploma in architectural technology or equivalent
  • Certificate in BIM digital model coordination (asset)
  • Minimum 8 years experience as technologist or architect
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the production of projects in Revit
  • Knowledge of current codes and regulations
  • Good knowledge of BIM processes and tools, including Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Fluency in written and spoken French
  • Functional knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Autonomy, ability to adapt, analytical skills, communication and facilitation skills, interpersonal skills, initiative
