Your responsibilities

The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Senior Director of Finance and Administration in managing the full accounting cycle for Lemay Michaud Architecture Design and its consortia. The firm operates on a project-based accounting system and places great emphasis on financial rigor and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Accounting and Financial Management:
• Manage the entire accounting cycle for multiple entities (accounts payable, accounts receivable, in-house payroll, depreciation, accruals, and provisions)
• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Prepare government remittances for all companies (GST, QST, HST, DAS, etc.)
• Prepare and produce monthly internal financial statements
• Participate in financial analysis and performance monitoring

Year-End and Audit:
• Prepare year-end files for external auditors
• Serve as a point of contact for auditors and respond to their requests
• Ensure compliance with accounting practices and internal controls

Administration and Compliance:
• Coordinate corporate insurance renewal files, including general liability and professional liability insurance
• Monitor deadlines, coverage, and insurance certificates
• Closely monitor partners’ registrations and renewals with their professional associations, including accreditations with associations in other provinces and the AMP

Collaboration and supervision:
• Work closely with the project controller and the finance director
• Supervise and mentor two (2) accounting clerks
• Contribute to the improvement of accounting and financial processes

 

 

 

Your qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• Relevant experience in project-based accounting (required)
• Excellent command of French, both spoken and written.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) ERP
• Ability to manage multiple entities and work in a structured yet dynamic environment


Qualifications that are considered assets:
• Knowledge of SIFIA (Jovaco) software
• Experience in a professional services firm (architecture, engineering, design, etc.)
• Experience in a multi-entity and consortium environment
