700 René-Lévesque O.

Conceived as a natural extension of the interior design by LemayMichaud, the signage for the 700 René Lévesque O project is based on a four-part approach: strategy, integration, identity, and accessibility.
The wayfinding strategy structures the user experience by facilitating intuitive navigation. The space is divided into two distinct zones, North and South, enabling quick orientation. A clear spatial hierarchy is established through variations in scale and distinctive naming conventions. In addition, cantilevered signs help identify key spaces. The integrated design approach emphasizes a balanced presence: signage elements are seamlessly embedded within the architectural environment through a precise selection of colors, formats, and proportions.

The visual identity is expressed through an extension of the brand’s graphic language. The polygonal symbol becomes the foundation of a signage system, structuring pictograms, panels, and wall interventions. Directional signs, composed of three planes, including one folded at a 90-degree angle around a corner, provide both visibility and rhythm. Graphic interventions act not only as wayfinding tools but also as spatial accents, such as the integration of diagonal line compositions within a major corridor, creating a transitional and immersive experience. Finally, the project incorporates best practices in universal accessibility: intentional bilingualism, inclusive pictograms, high contrast, non-reflective surfaces, as well as tactile lettering and braille.
