Yesterday, October 7, the groundbreaking marked the beginning of an ambitious project that will welcome a new mountain destination to the Laurentians in 2028.

From the French Alps to the Laurentians
For LemayMichaud, the starting point was to envision an environment that brings together the elegance of the French Alps, the heritage of skiing, and the distinctive Club Med experience. The interior design approach draws inspiration from grand Alpine chalets and their warm atmosphere, while introducing a more vibrant and contemporary dimension.
The European influence is expressed through refined hospitality, spaces designed for gathering, and an atmosphere that invites guests to fully enjoy their stay, from days on the slopes to moments of relaxation. The concept is designed for an international clientele while preserving the active and convivial spirit that defines Club Med.
The Retro-Ski approach enriches this environment with references to the golden age of skiing and the colourful glamour of après-ski. Playful objects, vintage visuals, retro photographs, and warm mountain accents punctuate the spaces, striking a balance between nostalgia and sophistication. The memory of skiing thus becomes a contemporary language, both lively and timeless.
A New Mountain Experience
Inspired by the chalets of the French Alps, the spaces feature natural materials and refined finishes. Warm wood, natural stone, and textured fabrics create a rich, enveloping material palette. These elements bring a sense of comfort and permanence while allowing each setting to have its own distinct character.
Beyond aesthetics, the project seeks to capture a particular way of experiencing the mountain: days spent on the slopes, returning to the warmth of the chalet, gathering over a drink, and quieter moments between activities.
Every design choice contributes to this experience. Materials invite comfort, textures add depth, and details give each space its character. The atmospheres evolve while remaining connected by a common thread.
The result strikes a balance between local grounding and escape, heritage and contemporary expression, and the rustic character of the chalet and a more refined elegance.
Now Under Construction
With construction now underway, the project we envisioned in collaboration with MSDL, the architectural firm, is moving from plans and renderings into the landscape of Mont-Tremblant.
